Wai Pyo's Daily Design Workout 2010

I have decided to learn a design tutorial everyday starting from January 1, 2010. I've got my inspiration after reading Design Something Every Day! This is one of my new year resolution and I vow to keep it going until the end of year.

Before I master Photoshop and stuffs, I'll be doing tutorials and mix them with my idea to make a design. My aim is to produce unique design coming from my head. But I know it will take some time. There is a Burmese saying; Learn, Imitate and Create. So, I'm now at the phase of Learning and Imitating.

I'm gonna give myself a few hours each day to learn or make a design. I also have a day job so I don't know how I will maintain the quality of my work given a short time to design. And another thing is that I am just a novice starting to learn everything from the scratch so please bear with the simplicity or stupidity in my designs. I hope I will improve overtime.

Well, the main reason I'm doing this is that I'm really into Graphic and Web Design. Daily design challange is a promise I made to myself. I have to keep it. This will push me to do something creative everyday which is a good thing because I believe I can improve substantially. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll find something useful here. Cheers!

Update(4 March 2010) : 2 months have passed and I can feel the improvement. I've learned to create basic to intermediate level web designs. This month, I've started learning CSS and XHTML fundamentals already and the future looks promising.

Update(14 May 2010) : I'm into 5 months now and feel quite confident about my skills in photoshop though I still can't make complex illustrations. I'm more interested in UI design and layouts so I won't care much about illustrations for now.

And I have launched Quoutes In Design where I showcase my collection of quotes in some kind of typographic designs. That is a result of my daily design workout. I'm glad I started this.

Last week, I've got a copy of "NetTUT+ From Photoshop To HTML Like A Pro by Jeffrey Way". I'm gonna expand my knowledge of front-end coding from this point forward.
